David M. Prados practices in family law and general civil litigation. He is a Board Certified
Family Law Specialist who represents parties in every phase of matrimonial
and domestic law, including prenuptial agreements, divorce actions, spousal
and child support, child custody and visitation, division of marital property,
as well as paternity, tutorship, interdiction, and wills. He works directly
with clients to develop a pragmatic and effective manner of representation
to resolve the domestic dispute while never losing sight of his duty as
an advocate on behalf of his clients. He has worked with mediators, custody
evaluators, family counselors, and tax and financial experts to achieve
a personal resolution for each individual family situation.
Mr. Prados has been certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization as an
Appellate Practice Specialist, and is available to assist clients and attorneys in appellate matters.
Mr. Prados earned his undergraduate and a master’s degree in English
from the University of New Orleans, and his law degree, cum laude, from
Loyola University. During law school, he was a member of the Loyola Law
Review and the Moot Court staff. He authors
Recent Developments in Family Law for the Louisiana Bar Journal. He is a frequent lecturer on family law
topics to law school classes and to continuing professional education
seminars. He serves on the Louisiana State Law Institute Child Custody
Committee. He has also served as a Special Master. Mr. Prados has been
named a Louisiana Super Lawyer and has been listed as a 2016 New Orleans'
Top Lawyer. Mr. Prados is a member of the Louisiana State and American
Bar Associations.
